Chicken woman duck thing topper - Lecture 33 Challenge

I tried making something that looked vaguely head like, with mild success :stuck_out_tongue:

I also had a weird glitchy thing happen that i was wondering if anyone could explain. If you look on my picture, there is a vertex inset into both sides of the head. But on the right hand side, if you look at the model from above, the vertex is hidden by a surface. If you attempt to select the edge that is apparently in front of the vertex, you can’t. It doesn’t exist. On the left hand side, the vertex is visible as normal.

With my limited knowledge, I can’t explain this. Could anyone else give it a shot please?

I can’t remember what it’s called, but you’ll go over it later in the course. I think it’s in the chess section, but you can fix it by deleting that face and joining the two middle points together with F, then fill in the two resulting faces.

Fair enough  I had to do that to fix another case of this I found in a different spot. Obviously I’m doing something naughty to create these magical faces. Thanks again Nixe!

Aha! Non-planar geometry is the culprit! For anyone who also has this issue, checkout Lecture 83. Mike goes over how it happens and how to solve it, much like @NixeKnox suggested
