I noticed that the knights are all looking away from their enemies. 
Nice job though, like the glass piece approach. The black pieces if were a little darker or tinted would probably differentiate them more from the white pieces.
The knights don’t care to look at the likes of peasants. 
You are absolutely correct, i could have made the black pieces darker, i see that now, after i got some sleep. i guess i was more tired that i thought when i rendered.
I have now Tinted the black pieces a bit, and changed the lighting a bit, so it should now be easier to see the difference between them.
