Here is my first render of the chess set now that the timber texture has been applied to the board base.
I may tweak the lighting a bit later on to have more of the warm light towards the front of the board.
Let me know what you think so far!

The style of the board matches to chess pieces!
Adding a small bevelto all the sharp edges of the board, could give some nice highlites.
Coming along nicely.
