BullCowgame could not be compiled, Try rebuilding from source

what I have tried

1.i only have one version VS community i.e. 2019 Version 16.11

2.my unreal version is 4.26.2

3.i have tried opening it in VS code and changing the version from 4.26 to 4.26.2 but when I open the file it again gives me the option to select 4.26 and goes back to that version

4.i have unreal engine installer ticked in game development options VS community installer

5.I have .NET 4.8 SDK

Please Help ASAP i m not able to continue with the course

I’m having a similar issue with all my projects and its really frustrating. Can’t open any of my work.
In terms of the log, I think I know where it states the issue.
- As I am writing this reply I have figured out the issue. Credit: @nug700 in unreal engine forums.-
“The root folder has to be named the same as the project for everything to work correctly.” The name of the folder in which you have the .uproject has to be the same name as the .uproject itself.
This helped me a ton and i can open my project again. (this has been the only thing that worked - i tried a million other things)
