I tried fiddling around with eevee’s settings, and I can say that so far I prefer just letting cycles run for a minute. Which looks better in your opinion?

For sure Cycles. But in larger complex scenes or interest in gaming then Eevee could be preferred.
Then learn more about Eevee because many Eevee beginner errors can be solved in Eevee. Just need to know how!

Good scene.
Yes I only final render in Cycles. But if someone’s interest is games and animation the time savings are hugely influential. Complex detail and effects can take many hours to days to render on domestic machines. My first go through the 2.7 course the fluffy bunny took 18 hours or so to render.
