Went with the subdivision surface method and added additional face to the finger holes to apply a different material. Pretty Much the same as the method in the lecture, but I do think that was the best way. Overall I’m happy with it.

It totally depends on how the ball is used.
But more advanced would be to the use of texture maps.
More freedom in creativity. But don’t worry.
