Bad Geometry from Curve

So, I tried to follow the course as closely as possible. I used the exact same numbers as he did for the lesson but I wound up with this:

Is that normal? What is the best route to fix that if it is not normal. I do not think it should look like that…

The normals are what you’ve made them…

but you’ve pushed the curve too far towards the center causing the geometry to pass through itself

The normals… are normal. And yeah, apparently, the course director did the same thing. I had followed him exactly, down to the .001 place and when I came up with this I sorta freaked out. Then, two minutes later in the lecture he showed his with exactly the same problem. Of course I panicked before that point and spent two days trying to figure out how to fix it…
