Wanted it to look sterile and dreary. Think old hospital or prison perhaps

Awesome. I like that you didn’t just leave the default material colors on the table and the chair. I suggest putting a ceiling on it though to add a little more dreariness. Looks good, though.

Yeah, doing the ceiling I guess would block out more of the light too? It would really emphasise the light coming through the door. Looks like an old room in a hospital, like you said, one perhaps where operations were carried out (blood stain drain in the floor somewhere perhaps?) - now being used for the staff room!
