I have to get going so I don’t have time to write a nice description. I did some extrusions in both faces on cubes and cylinders as well as vertex extrusion to make the wheel covers. The only way I could figure out how to do the wheel covers was to start with a cube and then extrude a vertex and then delete each face of the cube. It was cumbersome, but it worked. Same for the propeller blades.

Thaks Phrobion, appreciate it!
As for the cumbersome part, I just meant that making a vertex by creating a cube and then deleting all the faces is cumbersome. Making the plane, except for some hiccups, was fun!
Your biplane looks better than mine! This was a difficult challenge as it is all new to me but I am excited about what I produced. The tail is a bit wonky and the wheels are non-existent, cockpit is strange and the propellers are not quite right but I am still pleased.
That looks great! I spent like 3 or 4 hours muddling around with mine.
I paused the video too soon and didn’t know I was supposed to start with a cube and started mine with a cylinder. Haha. My OCD was kicking in when I tried to stop with a simple plane. The toy I had found was a bi-plane, and I couldn’t leave well enough alone.
I don’t see anything odd with your plane’s tail. It looks fine to me. I really like the propeller too! Mine’s flat, and couldn’t figure out how to make it more “spirally” like yours.
Thanks for the feedback. It is really nice to hear encouraging words when all you can see are the little things you could improve.
This is a new skill and now that I have done more lectures I could definitely do better! I have never been an ‘arty’ person and this took me all morning to do.
I also started with a cylinder and forgot a few things and really messed it up. Then I watched his answer and tried it again but I wanted to try something that wasn’t just copying his. One step at a time! The propellers are cylinders with the ends brought in. (And the only reason you can’t see the messed up tail is strategic positioning!) I think you have to be a bit OCD if you want to really improve to close to the level we all would like.

really like your works! both of you @GymMammoth and @Alysia_Relf-Phypers
I just started and I am far away of your skills.
Am very curious how things keep going

Hi @Klappergebiss!
Thank you for the complements!
The class is amazing! There’s plenty of places to go from here. I’m currently in the Fluffy bunny lectures (I only get a little time to work on it now and again so I’m moving slowly) and the material is fantastic! Each section gives you a chance to do as little or as much as you want. I have been taking lots of notes on the videos and found that I refer back to them often (partly because I’m so slow) but keep at it! What I thought was impossible just a few videos before is now second nature!
