In looking at photos of the Staunton rook, I noticed that it has six notches around the top wall, and having an eight-sided model just didn’t allow an easy way to incorporate that. So, I remade the model from scratch, using a twelve-sided cylinder instead of the eight-sided, and cut a notch out of every other segment of the top wall. Not as low poly as we might like, but I wanted to see if I could do it. It looks rather okay.
