3D printed Mayan Temple

A coworker of mine has been telling me about his 3D printer than he just got. When he mentioned that he used Blender I showed him my Temple model and he printed it for me!

very cool!

Awesome luck!

I want a 3D printer so bad. It would be extremely cool to be able to see my models in real life. Great model too by the way!

Still waiting for a 3D printer that I backed on Kickstarter (hopefully it’ll come in a month or two), will definitely have to print off some stuff I made in the course

That is ridiculously cool. Is that tilework on the top of the structure? It looks like a texture.

If you can 3D-print this, I’d be so tempted to create figurines and “G.I. Joe” stuff… crazy new guns, and what-not…

It’s not textured (at least, not intentionally). It has a roughness to it which I think is just a side affect of the printing process.

Having this print really makes me want a 3d printer. The one my coworker has is high end $2500 but there are cheaper ones. Monoprice has some that are downright affordable: https://www.monoprice.com/pages/3d_printers

I send the model to a print shop.

lol, they still haven’t shipped :stuck_out_tongue: hopefully coming soon though, they’re just working out shipping and 2020 has thrown curveballs into the mix.
