2026 Collab: Week 20 “Medieval Dark Fantasy” - VOTE CLOSED

This is the Blender Collaboration 2026, week 20 challenge. Don’t be afraid to join, a lot of us are beginners. This is all to practice, have fun, learn, and get together.

This week’s subject is “Medieval Dark Fantasy”.

  • “Medieval Dark Fantasy” - Characters, buildings, weapons, magic, anything that fits in the world ~ Dark fantasy or fantasy horror is a subgenre of literary, artistic, and cinematic fantasy works that incorporates disturbing and frightening themes. The term is ambiguously used to describe stories that combine horror elements with one or other of the standard formulas of fantasy.

  • Subject selected by the previous Week 18, 2026 “ Modeling your world " winner Fuentes_Ramirez_Espa

The rules are simple. 1 subject, 1 entry, 1 week.
You create whatever object or scene or whatever you can think of that has something to do with the subject. It can be as simple or complicated as you want, all entries are welcome!
Post your picture here in this thread. At the end of the week, we start to vote. And if you are the winner, you may choose the next subject and win a unique badge.

Deadline: 2026-05-16T21:55:00Z

Almost done with the main element

I would have liked to refine some details like better textures for the walls and dirt, elements to properly show the scale of the monster and better lighting/post-processing but I ran out of time

Made a spectre doing a ritual in the forest, I was initially going to do a necromancer raising the dead but as I am not yet experienced enough to do multiple characters I decided to downscope the idea and prioritized the magic element. Also between the environment, magic and spectre there was too much geometry and I had to work in layers so my laptop wouldnt explode, but it did crash blender a few times lol

We @BlenderCollab have a few days to vote. You can vote fast but also think slowly about design, colors, technique, difficulty, subject, realism, etc. Choose consciously and not on your entry.
The new subject week 21 “Red cube” has already started. The winner of this week’s “Medieval Dark Fantasy” challenge may select a subject for next week 22 and win a badge.

@Joey_Cuevas congratulations!
A downright creepy scene. The skeleton’s pose is well-chosen, as if it is about to step inside. It frames the skeleton as if it is looking directly at you. Nice project, worth a next round of detailing.

  • Ali_Alwayel - What I find remarkable is that the red color is well incorporated into the composition. This creates a fitting context. The object itself is difficult to place in terms of scale. There is no visual reference. It feels like the proportions are off. (Final Fantasy reference ?)
  • Crisus - I love this dreamy, magical state. But perhaps too little focus on dark fantasy.
  • Fuentes_Ramirez_Espa - It looks truly magical, you did it perfectly. But the context has been lost a bit; more dark fantasy monsters should have made it complete.

Note: I don’t want to offend anyone. I try to write down positive ideas and visions in my simple use of the English language. I am also sometimes more inspired by a particular subject or solution. I’m also learning from you!
