This is the Blender Collaboration 2026, week 16 challenge. Don’t be afraid to join, a lot of us are beginners. This is all to practice, have fun, learn, and get together.
This week’s subject is “It’s all about character”.
“It’s all about character” - It’s about getting the community to practice modeling a character - it can be a completely original character. Or, it can be their rendition of their favorite animated character or someone or something from a film, comic, manga, video game, whatever. It can be humanoid, animal, insect, alien, fantastical - doesn’t matter. The character can be on its own, standing on a platform or could be placed in a scene - interacting with the environment.
The rules are simple. 1 subject, 1 entry, 1 week.
You create whatever object or scene or whatever you can think of that has something to do with the subject. It can be as simple or complicated as you want, all entries are welcome!
Post your picture here in this thread. At the end of the week, we start to vote. And if you are the winner, you may choose the next subject and win a unique badge.
This is my crew, maybe more but I can’t locate them …
Most of then have basic armature and no fingers, toes …
Bender was my animation study, with a lot of armature configuration. But then I learned rigging is (again) a huge study subject.
So I decided I wanted to tackle the teenage mutant ninja turtles. I started blocking out Raphael first and decided to experiment with some line-art shaders. Not sure if I’ll have any time after today to work on it this week, so hopefully I can at least get Raphael modeled and rigged.
Thank you, you did a great job with the Ninja Turtle too. I don’t know if I’ll make a 3D model though. My main goal right now is to fix bugs in my small game that I made last month. I changed the engine version so I could add some features, but that introduced a lot of bugs, so that’s my main focus for now.
I ended up having downtime today because I’m waiting for feedback on a number of assignments. So I was able to tweak this further. I really like the look without the black outline. This may be the final version for this week.
