lol Easy one!
Now we expect an old Dutch master.
Yeah, I know. But, busy with other projects.
This is definitely going to be interesting.
Hmmm
Not sure it’s worth taking part in the competition but after @FedPete 's post I couldn’t resist
It’s a mysterious entry … a monolith, Stanly Kubrick.
It’s just to have fun, improve and help each other get better like @FedPete says in the intro to the collab
Yup, but it’s still a default cube…
…with 1,5m faces - the most hi-poly Blender work I’ve made so far.
It’s not the size of of the cube or the number of subdivisions it’s what you do with it lol… bad joke I know
I don’t really have my favourite painting or picture. But When I was a kid I’ve had my very favourite 2d cartoon. Earthworm Jim.
So here is my 3D interpretation.
Great model and scene.
Thanks. Ive canibalised torso from my orc model. Rest is freshly made. Easy models too. Extrusion, scale and bevel mailny. Scene, jet and laser all volumetrics. And they took longest to figure. Whole thing took about 3.5 hours. 3min render at1000 samples
I know it’s a little out of season, but here it is.
One of my favorite 2D artworks, an Easter drawing one of my children made:
3D rendition:
Wow! This is great!
So much fun in this one.
Good artist too
Vote your favorite 2D artwork in 3D - week 47
We @BlenderCollab have a few days to vote. You can vote fast but also think slowly about design, colors, technique, difficulty, subject, realism, etc. Choose consciously and not on your own entry.
And the next subject, week 48 " Mythical creatures ” has already started. The winner of this week’s “Create your favorite 2D artwork in 3D” challenge may select a subject for week 49.

I didn’t expect so much input and such high quality for this subject “Create your favorite 2D artwork in 3D”.
It amazes me, how people can add a third dimension to a flat 2D subject. Personally, I missed that step completely. Lots of strength, and wisdom in making a choice.
Contratulations this week goes to @Mateusz !
- fedPete - Simplistic and maybe too …
- Peter_Khromov - One of my favs, and I have a lot of them. I like to have this one on my desk
- Caleb_Kofoed - Add smooth shading and a bit more material texture.
- Digits - so cute … It can be the start of a whole series. A book perhaps …
- simgen - Love this converion. Could be a bit darker like the original one. But I like the way you did it.
- Willrun - I mssed the update, The idea is good, but more ‘kazam…’
Great work everybody. I didn’t expect this result.
