I did not see a similar topic for this specific section. So I thought I’d create it to give the instructors some feedback on how to improve this lecture.
As useful as short cuts are, I would always encourage the instructor to first show where the item is accessible via menu.
E.g. Loop Cut And Slide. Ctrl + R was mentioned multiple times from the start, however the actual menu item was never shown. I’ve high lighted where it is for anyone curious in the image below:
My second piece of feedback is regarding the challenge itself. I think the idea of a ramp was a bit confusing. A couple reasons why:
-
If someone takes a break between previous lectures and this - it has been a while since a mayan pyramid was shown, so the idea of a ramp in it requires the user to look it up themselves.
-
The sample image shown in the lectures can be mistaken as the goal of the challenge. Rather than just explaining we are hoping to get two parallel edge loops.
-
Finally, the solution at the end doesn’t really create a visible ramp (above the stairs). Which is what I think people would assume is required from the challenge description. I’d recommend either modifying how the ramp is described in the challenge or the final solution.
